Mobile by sainsburys

Phone shop by Sainsbury’s is a mobile virtual network operator launched in July 2013 in partnership with Vodafone. The launch followed similar launches by supermarket rivals Tesco and Asda. The service offers a wide range of pay as you go mobile phones and accessories including the latest sim free devices from all the leading brands.

My role

I was part of the Magento development team responsible for delivering the first iteration of the online Phone shop by Sainsbury's store. Working with a range of technologies including Gulp, HTML, CSS and Javascript the team delivered a bespoke Magento solution.

I was also part of the team tasked with delivering phase two of the project, developing the online presence further and producing a fully reponsive site.

Main responsibilities:

• Front end development and testing across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices
• Working within the Sainsbury's brand guidelines to develop design concepts
• Liaising with external design teams to produce estimates and project road maps
• Working as part of an agile delivery team to support content changes in line with Sainsbury's offers and marketing campaigns
